Ms. Margie Green, 61 ,the daughter of Mr. Sam Green and Mrs. Catherine Green, was born August 14, 1950 in Bluffton, South Carolina. She received her early education at M.C. Riley High School in Bluffton.

At an early age, Margie moved to Boston Massachusetts, where she worked at Bromley Health Security and Best Coat Factory for many years. In 1982, she relocated to Columbia, SC. Recently she returned to Bluffton, SC to be with her family. Margie realized God is the author and finisher of her faith confessed Christ as her personal Savior, and was baptized and became a member of the First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Tyrone Beckett.

On Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. following a brief illness, Margie realizing she has a building not made by hand, eternal in heaven, peacefully departed this life at the home of her sister, Shirley Menefee; who was also her caretaker. Margie was surrounded by her children, sisters, brothers, and other supportive family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Margie leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Kenneth Green and Cedrick Green, both of Bluffton, SC, and James Green of Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren,Tacara, Alexus, KaTara, Cedrick, Jr., JaQuan, Qu'ran and Zakaria ; one great grandchild, La'Niyah Gadson; special friend, Mr. Barry Elmore of Columbia, SC; six sisters, Anna Mae (Rueben) Gadson, Phyllis Johnson, Katie Mae(Edward) Givens, Shirley Menefee, all of Bluffton, SC, Jeanette (Louis) Aiken of Ridgeland, SC, and Elizabeth Lovell of Dorchester, MA; four brothers, Harold (Valerise) Johnson, Sam Green, Joseph Green, and Henry (Bessie) Green, all of Bluffton, SC; one aunt, Rosealee Garrett of Boston, MA; four uncles, Ned and Wesley Bush of Bluffton, SC, Francis (Bertha) Bush of Tampa, FL, and David (Ethel Mae) of Savannah, GA; one grand aunt, Rena Johnson of Ridgeland, SC; one grand uncle, Amos (Lula) Johnson of Bronx, NY; 12 nephews, 15 nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Margie Green were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bluffton, SC. Burial was in Jackville Cemetery in Bluffton. Arrangements were by Allen Funeral Home of Ridgeland.
