Mrs. Roxanna Gibbs, youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Parker was born July 21, 1911. She met and  united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Gibbs. They had one daughter, Julia "Jane" Austin. 

Mrs. Roxie and her family moved to  Baltimore, MD in the early 1930's. She was a Domestic worker for many years. She helped  her daughter raise Barbara, Adrenne and Myrna,  who are her oldest grandchildren.  She had a hand in the lives of her grandchildren during their early years.

While in Baltimore, Mrs Gibbs joined Whitestone Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.  In the early 1970"s, her husband decided to move the family back home to South Carolina. Mrs. Roxie loved to travel and look good.

On Friday, March 22, 2013, Mrs. Roxanna Gibbs transitioned into eternal rest at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  Her husband, Thomas Gibbs, daughter, Julia "Jane" Austin and granddaughter, Joanne Preceded her in death.

She Leaves to cherish her legacy: eleven grandchildren, Barbara, Adrienne, Myrna, Yvonne, Karen, Michael, Paul, Tonia, Marvis, David and Brian; Twenty-two great grandchildren; god daughter, Ernestine "Bell" Bright; niece, Alberta Givens (who lived with her in Baltimore) devoted friends Marylee "Ms.Peach' Robinson Maczyk and Pat little; devoted caregiver, Carrie Miles; the wonderful staff at A'lelia Residential Care Facility; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.i

Roxanna Gibbs, 101,  of Big Estate Community of Yemessee, SC. died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home Complex in Coosawhatchie, SC. Funeral service will be 11am Monday, April 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial in the Beaufort National Cemetery. Allen Funeral Home of Beaufort is in charge.
