Music by The Piano Brothers

Sister Jacquelyn Edell Cogswell Brown-Mitchell, daughter of the late Christina Brown and the late Clifford Cogswell, was born September 17, 1939, and was a life-long Bluffton, South Carolina resident.  She was affectionately called “Jackie” by family and friends.

Jackie received her early formal education in the public school system of Beaufort County.  After high school, she continued her education at Armstrong State College, where she received her RN degree.  She worked as a Phlebotomist (Lab Technician).

Jackie was joined in holy matrimony to Albert Pringle Mitchell, Sr. on July 6, 1958.  Together they were blessed with five children.

She had a warm, inviting spirit, and enjoyed spending time with family and good friends.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her home in Bluffton, Jacquelyn answered the call of a wise and loving God, and entered peaceful, eternal rest.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Jerome Frazier.

She leaves her legacy of love to be cherished by her loving, devoted husband of 56 years, Albert P. Mitchell, Sr. of Bluffton, SC; one son, Albert D. Mitchell, Jr. of Bluffton, SC; four daughters, Theresa R. (Kenneth) Frazier, Rose M. (Bradely) Bellamy, and Sharon D. Mitchell, all of Bluffton, SC, and Vannesa (Walter) Moultrie of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Bertha (Francis) Bush, Bessie (Jack) Simmons, Mary Agnes-Thompson, and Audrey C. Bruin; three brothers, Robert Brown of Tampa, FL, James (Jamie) Cogswell of Bluffton, SC, and Clarence (Inez) Washington of Beaufort, SC; three sisters-in-law, Martha Wilson of Bluffton, SC, Theresa Pringle and Dorothy White of Lady’s Island, SC; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Willard “Bill” Pringle and Julius Pringle, Jr., both of Lady’s Island, SC; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two goddaughters, Jacquelyn Celeste Greene of Columbia, SC and Shantae Heyward of Savannah, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
