 Leonard Timothy Wiggins

Leonard Timothy Wiggins, son of the late Bernard Wiggins and Zelna Lee McMillan was born February 16, 1948 in Ashton, South Carolina.  He departed this life June 2, 2018 at the age of 70. He was the oldest of six children.

The family migrated from Ashton, South Carolina to Brooklyn, New York in the early 50’s. He received his early childhood education in Brooklyn, New York.

He was drafted in the U.S Army and began a tour of duty in Vietnam where he fought in battle on the frontline. He often spoke about the war in Vietnam and how his experiences there changed his life. His dream was to return home to his family and with all Glory to God his dream became a reality.

He was a Father and Brother to the many passengers he transported to various destinations. Leonard really enjoyed driving from Brooklyn, NY to South Carolina. Along his route he would often stop and shop. When at home he took advantage of the new technology and used his phone to shop for anything you could imagine. There was nothing he didn’t have.

He was employed with A&P Associates as Assistant Manager. Leonard later transferred to New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority, “MABSTOA”, where he later retired.

He leaves behind a devoted family to cherish memories of him; his son, Parish Lefon Wiggins; two grandchildren, Jace and Tye Wiggins of Laurel, Maryland; one brother, Charles O’Neal Wiggins of Walterboro, SC; four sisters, Shirley Ann Wiggins, Alma V. Wiggins, Yvonne L. Wiggins of Brooklyn, New York and Sabrina Wiggins of New York, NY; devoted aunts, Mary Celestine McMillan of Brooklyn, New York, Eloise Brown of Ashton, SC and Julia Wiggins of Walterboro, SC; three uncles, Charlie Wiggins of Walterboro, SC, Norris McMillan of Middleton, Delaware and Marshall McMillan of Ashton, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Offering sincere condolences, no doubt this is a difficult time for the family. May you put trust in the many promises our Heavenly Father says will soon come about and allow that wonderful hope to comfort you in the days ahead. (John 11:25; Ps. 37:29)

Please accept my sincere sympathy for your lose. May you find comfort in the promises of God’s Kingdom when his will is done, and in the inspired words of King David found at Psalm 34:18, “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
