Doris Diane Rhett, 64, of Yemassee, SC,  passed away on May 12, 2022, at her home in Yemassee, SC. She was the wife of Mr. Jerry C. Rhett. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.



Doris Diane Rhett aka (Dewy Dewy) was born February 7, 1958 to the proud parents of Bobby Brown and Minnie Lee Williams. She was raised in Tampa Florida by her stepfather Leroy Philon and her Minnie Lee Philon. Doris attended Hillsborough High School. She worked at Hannah Oaks Nursing Home in Tampa Florida. She worked at Hannah Oaks Nursing Home in Tampa Florida. Doris took care of a lot of children in her community. They held a special place in her heart. After relocating to Ridgeland, S.C, Doris was an employee of Walmart in Hardeeville, Sc.
Doris was happily married to Rev. Jerry C. Rhett for 26 years. She attended St. Paul Baptist Church and Rosemary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher Board and Choir at Rosemary Baptist Church. She Loved to sing to her Lord and Savior, “I Give You Praise” and “I Pray We’ll All Be Ready” These songs held a special meaning for everyone who heard her sang. Her Favorite Scripture that she lived by was John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, He gave His only Begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
On Thursday, May 12, 2022, God called Doris to her heavenly home. One daughter preceded her in death, Keshia Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving Husband Rev. Jerry C Rhett, one daughter Tamika William of Tampa, Florida, Doris was blessed to raise a granddaughter as her own daughter, Teakawanda Carwell, two Stepsons: Jeremiah Rhett and Addison Rhett of Tampa, Florida, her grandchildren will miss her dearly: Mercedes Carwell, Gi’ montae Williams, Jaquitta Carwell, Ja’Niya Ramsey, Jolesha Robusti, Drevonte Strowder, Shanel Rhett, Brenda Faye Rhett, Jalisa Rhett, Baby Jeremiah, Steven Krug, Aryanna Rhett, Aliza Rhett, Jerimila Rhett, one great grand: Makai Carwell, one sister: Eartha (Darnell) Robinson of Tampa Florida, two aunts: Minnie Fred Tripp and Angus (Sam) Gray of Marianna, Florida, one uncle: Ernest (Eloise) Rhett -Coosawhatchie, SC, three sisters-in-law: Molly  (Oliver) Bright of Ridgeland, SC, Helen (Timothy) Benson, and Hedy Rhett-Frazier of Coosawhatchie, SC, one Brother-in-law Tracy Rhett of Charleston, SC, two favorite nephews: Derrick (Megan) Parnell and Larry (Shalina) Frazier, special cousins: James (Gail) Williams and Janette Ellenwood, four Best friends forever: Kathy Mitchell, Angie Nelson, Martha Frazier, and Kathleen Ferguson, godchildren: Marlena Benson, Aryanna Frazier, Nicholas Norby, Akeiylah Witter, Akeem Witter, Semaj Rivers, Jacobi Ferguson, and Carolyn Nash. Along with other relatives, family and friends.
