Jane Chisolm

Jane Chisolm, 79, of St. Helena Island, SC, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Pruitthealth Estill, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.  

A public viewing for Jane Chisolm will be held on Thursday, November 25, 2022, from 5 PM- 7 PM at Allen Funeral Home in Beaufort, SC. The funeral Service will be Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11 o'clock in the morning at Orange Grove Baptist Church and viewing will take place from 9:30 until the time of service. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.

Jane D. Chisolm was born on September 19, 1943, the daughter of the late James Johnson and Luetta Daise. Jane was reared by the late John Penfield Miller, Sr., and Louise Daise Miller. She is a 1963 graduate of St. Helena High School.
On July 11, 1965, Jane married the love of her life, Oscar “Rasco” Chisolm. They were blessed with two sons, Oscar, Jr., and Michael.
At an early age, Jane became a faithful member of the Orange Grove Baptist Church and served on the Usher Ministry and Missionary Ministry. She was a member of the South Pine Ladies Union of St. Helena Island, SC.
Jane spent many years working in the Health Field and the Beaufort County School District.
Jane was very compassionate and loved everyone. She enjoyed going to the Scott Community Center Senior Citizens Program. She was one of the Golden Girls. Jane assisted many families and members of the community until her health began to decline. You only had to ask, and she would take the time to help anyone in need with anything.
On November 20, 2022, Jane D. Chisolm was called home to be with the Lord.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Chisolm, Sr., her parents James Johnson and Louetta Daise Johnson, her adopted parents John Penfield Miller, Sr., and Louise Daise Miller and her siblings Ronald Miller, Annette Miller Brown, Laverne Miller Frasier and Fred Smalls.
Jane D. Chisolm leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Oscar (Anitra) Chisolm, Jr. of Mebane, North Carolina and Michael D. (Sherika) Chisolm of Beaufort, SC, three brothers, James E. Lewis (Marnita Powell) of St. Helena Island, SC, Melvin Johnson of Delaware and John (Margie) Miller, Jr. of St. Helena Island, SC., four grandchildren, Teraysha L. Chisolm of Columbia, SC, Taryn C. Chisolm of Augusta, GA , Tanay Simmons of Burton, SC, and Da’Monta “Trey” Chisolm of Augusta, GA., five great grandchildren, Gabrien Chisolm, Gavin Chisolm, Adonis Jones, Zariyah Simmons and Trey “Jr” Boyles, one aunt in law, (Rosa (Joe) Murray of St. Helena Island, SC, three brother in laws , Clarence (Marie) Chisolm of St. Helena Island, SC, Lee Frasier of Beaufort, SC and David Brown, Sr. of Lady’s Island, SC, three sister in laws, Bertha (Albert) White, Florence Chisolm and Patricia S. Miller, all of St. Helena Island, SC, Beloved caretakers Ruthie Mae Chaplin and Janie Smalls, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
