Jessie White, of Beaufort, SC passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home. We welcome you to provide your thoughts and memories on our tribute wall.
Jessie Mae White was born February 23, 1958 in Beaufort SC. She was the daughter of Rosa Mae Gibbs and the late Deacon Ben Gibbs, Sr.
Jessie received her formal education in Beaufort County Schools where she graduated from Battery Creek High School in 1976. After graduation, Jessie later pursued a career in the health care field. Jessie obtained her CNA credentials and worked for Island Healthcare on Hilton Head Island, SC. Jessie had a passion for helping others. She worked throughout Beaufort, and the surround counties caring for women and men without bias. If you were in trouble or needed anything, Jessie was always there to give you a good bible scripture and a helping hand as well. Whatever you needed just ask Jessie.
On March 19, 1990, she gave her heart and hand to Richard White in Holy Matrimony, and they were married until her earthly departure.
In August of 2015, Jessie gave her life to Christ, her family and friends have seen the hand of God over her life over and over again. Her faith in God was relentless and her fight for life was fierce and unrelenting.
On June 20, 2022, Jessie embraced death knowing she would be with the Lord. Jessie was preceded in death by her father: Deacon Ben Gibbs, and her brother, Aarron Gibbs.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband and friend: Richard White; daughter: Carmella Gibbs; sons: Demetrious Walker and Phillip Washington of Atlanta ; Mother: Rosa Mae Gibbs; grandchildren: Ayandae Wright (King) of Beaufort SC, Demetria Walker, Demetrius Walker Jr. and Demetrie all of Florida; siblings: Herbert Brown (Wanda), Minister Phyllis Sullivan both of Beaufort SC, Prophetess Judy Greene (Jerry) of Augusta GA, Sharon Gibbs, Joyce Ham, Elder Ezetta Gibbs all of Beaufort SC and Benjamin Gibbs Jr. of Virginia; Uncles: Bishop Tommy Lee Brown (Earnestine) and Fred Dunbar both of NY, John Gibbs (Florie Mae); Deacon William Brown( Brenda), Benjamin Cohen, Alexander Gibbs Jr., James Green, all of Beaufort SC; Curtis Gibbs ( Tilda) of Columbia SC, Anthony Gibbs of Atlanta GA, and Johnathan Mitchell of Charleston SC; Aunts: Wilemenia Ferguson, Queenie Mae Gibbs, Annie mae Gibbs, Marie Johnson and Sandra Mitchell all of Beaufort SC; Debra Belton (Brain) of Texas, Dorethea Sogran(Mack) of Virgina Beach. Mother-in-law Rev Maybelle Scott; sister-in-law: Ravonia Chislom both of Jenkins SC, and brother-in-law Keith Chislom of Charleston SC. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
