Rainey Fripp, Jr.

Rainey Fripp Jr, 65, of St. Helena Is, SC passed away at MUSC Hospital Charleston, on June 30, 2022. He was the husband of Gloria Fripp. Visitation will be held, Monday, July 4, 2022, from 5-6 pm at Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Beaufort, SC. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Orange Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on St. Helena Island, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Funeral Home.

Rainey “Bug” Fripp Jr. was the second of nine children born to Rainey Fripp Sr. and Annabelle Fripp on August 5, 1956, in Beaufort, SC. 
Rainey attended St. Helena Elementary and Beaufort High school. He enlisted into the U.S. Army as an Army Ranger. He was a member of Orange Grove Baptist Church and served his community by coaching recreational baseball and mentoring at-risk youth within the Beaufort County education system. He continued serving his country as a dedicated contracted employee at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station from which he retired.
On May 1, 1980, Rainey Fripp and Gloria Dean were united in holy matrimony. Within this union were blessed with five children.
On Thursday, June 30, 2022, Rainey entered eternal rest at MUSC, Charleston, SC in the loving arms of his wife of 42 years. He was preceded in death by, his father, Rainey Fripp Sr, sister, Patricia Green, and daughter Iesha Latoya Fripp.
To carry on his legacy he leaves his wife, Gloria Fripp; sons: Dedrick R. Fripp Sr. (Theia), and Rainey Fripp III (Ayesha) both of St. Helena Island, SC; daughters: Netia Fripp (Maurice) of Seattle, WA, Alicia Fripp (Randy), and Marlena Green both of St. Helena Island, SC; he sorrowfully leaves fifteen beloved grandchildren; siblings: Michael Fripp (Faye) of Kernersville, NC, Isaac Fripp (Delphine), Virgil Fripp (Nicole), Motley Fripp, Gerome Fripp all of St. Helena Island, SC, Anna Fripp, Theresa Fripp both of Columbia, SC, Anthony Rivers and Geraldine Rivers; two aunts: Gardenia Byas of St. Helena Island, SC, and Inez Porter of Richmond, VA; two uncles: Eli “Lucky” Fripp of St. Helena Island, SC and Johnny Porter of Port Royal, SC; he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, special friends Sean and Candence Stalling of NC; buisness partners and friends: Carrie Bellinier and Joe Nierstedt.
